NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Anil Menon will install hardware that will modify the station’s 3B power channel and prepare it for the future installation of an International Space Station Roll-Out Solar Array (IROSA), which will provide additional power to support critical station operations, including its safe and controlled deorbit.

At approximately 8:35 a.m. EDT (1235 UTC) on Aug. 6, 2026, NASA astronauts Anil Menon and Jessica Meir will venture outside the International Space Station for an approximately six-and-a-half-hour spacewalk. The pair will install hardware that will modify the station’s 3B power channel and prepare it for the future installation of an International Space Station Roll-Out Solar Array.
This spacewalk will be the first for Menon and the sixth for Meir. Meir will serve as spacewalk crew member 1 and will wear a suit with red stripes. Menon will serve as crew member 2 and will wear an unmarked suit.
